Accounting Specialist (for Accounting IT Project) (m/f)

Tasks & Responsibilities

In your role as Accounting Specialist, you will work independently in our Group Finance & Reporting Department and will be able to bring in your extensive professional knowledge of key accounting and reporting processes during the planning, analysis, process definition and implementation of a group-wide accounting module and its integration with existing software applications. You will work closely with the accounting departments of our network banks to analyze their requirements to contribute to the shaping of the accounting solution and act as their contact person in all matters related to the successful running of the solution. During all project phases, you will work in close alignment with the Project Manager and act as finance and accounting counterpart to our IT department. In addition, your tasks will include:
 
  • Analyze and review structures, forms, work flows and processes of accounting departments in our network banks- remotely and on the ground;
  • Contribute to the preparation of future standard key processes within our network’s accounting departments and for the software;
  • Conduct gap analysis of existing processes and software-defined processes in order to align them;
  • Collaborate with the external software development organization to facilitate customization of the software application;
  • Define charts of accounts and provide the account mapping rules for the accounting module;
  • Define test cases and test scenarios, collaborate with testers during execution of tests, channel user acceptance testing in our network banks and participate in end-user training;
  • Responsible for spearheading the launch of the accounting software within the local banks, including coordination with local counterparts (local accounting departments, local IT departments) for successful go-live;
  • After the go-live, act as owner and contact person for local accounting staff, external providers and relevant departments at Head Office level.

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or similar, preferably with Accounting or IT focus;
  • 5+ years of work experience in Accounting and Reporting, preferably in international business environment;
  • Experience in project management or managerial roles;
  • Profound knowledge and understanding of key accounting processes;
  • High degree of IT affinity and proven exposure to IT software/applications (e.g. MIS, bank software solutions, etc.);
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is an asset;
  • Proficient report writing skills and a high level of numeracy, complemented by a strong analytical mind-set and a precise, solution-oriented working style;
  • Strong Excel skills;
  • Excellent people and communication skills, strong ability to work in a multicultural team environment;
  • High proficiency in speaking and writing in English, further language skills (Russian, French) are a plus;
  • Willingness to travel to network banks.
